Masterson’s Pub , positioned in the vibrant core of Moonee Ponds, advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment turned into one of the worst experiences of my life . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I experienced behind its walls was disturbing and far below any standard .

The floors were sticky , and a pungent odor of uncleaned spills and neglected washrooms permeated the entire venue . Emitting a scent of a mixture of urine , putrefaction and sour vomit . The main bar, which should be the centerpiece of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages . The lavatory was in even worse condition —overflowing , with a cracked flush mechanism and walls covered in what I can only assume was fecal matter .

Many visitors have reported spotting critters darting across the counter and traces of mice in the bar and house area .
